Staff Profile - Thomas Andrews
■ Professional Profile A Principal Engineer at Sierra Research, Mr. Andrews specializes in assisting stationary source clients meet the requirements of local, state, and federal air quality regulations. Responsibilities include preparing air quality impact sections for power plants and obtaining air quality permits for a variety of stationary source facilities, including cogeneration facilities, steel mills, natural gas compressor stations, sand and gravel operations, and mining projects. The regulatory programs addressed with these projects include Title V, New Source Review (NSR), and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS). Working on these projects has given him direct, practical experience in evaluating technical processes, control alternatives, emission potential, emissions offsets and applicable regulations. In addition to his services to stationary source clients, he has assisted in the development of a revised PM10 emissions inventory for the Coachella Valley planning area in Southern California. Mr. Andrews has been working in the field of air pollution control since 1987. Prior to joining Sierra Research in 1989, he worked as an Environmental Engineer with EPA’s Region IX office in San Francisco. Mr. Andrews has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Davis.
