Dr. Yoon is an Associate Specialist at Sierra Research whose responsibilities include several areas of air quality analysis and emission factor development.  Dr. Yoon has proficient experience in assembly, analysis, and quality assurance of traffic and emission factor data for intersection level modeling analyses.  He has experience in development of mobile source emission factors for both on-road and non-road vehicles using both federally and California-approved models (e.g., MOBILE6, EMFAC2007, and NONROAD).  Dr. Yoon has performed a number of pollutant impact analyses using dispersion models such as ISCST3, AERMOD, CAL3QHC and CAL3QHCR.  He also has experience in quality assurance analysis and reduction of meteorological data and preparation of air quality impact assessments and permit applications for various industrial sources.  Dr. Yoon’s skill set also includes GIS analysis capabilities.

Dr. Yoon has been working in the field of air pollution control since 2000.  Prior to joining Sierra in 2008, he was a doctoral student at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, where he earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering.  He also has a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the same university, as well as a M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Public Health from Keimyung University, South Korea.
